Rules

  1. The users should enter their Membership Number/Register Number, Name and the entry time in the gate register kept at the entrance before they enter inside the library. Similarly, when they leave the library their time of leaving should be entered in the gate register.

  2. Students must show their Identity Card (ID) before entering the library.

  3. Exchange of ID cards is not permitted.

  4. Silence must be observed inside the library. As the library is a place of individual study and research, members should conduct themselves to maintain a quiet atmosphere.

  5. Use of mobile phones inside the library is not permitted. 

  6. Books should be handled with care. Marking on books is most offensive and may lead to cancellation of membership privileges. The college library follows an Open Access System and hence the members have the privilege of direct access to book shelves in the stack and reference books.

  7. A book could be freely taken out of the shelves, and should not be re- shelved by the members as that can lead to the misplacement of books. Such books may be left on the nearest table and the same will be shelved by the library staff.

  8. Books will be issued or renewed only if a student produces her identity card.

  9. Students shall replace or pay for the cost of any book lost by them. If one book of a set is lost or damaged the whole set shall be replaced.

  10. If the book is overdue for the first week a fine of Rs.2 /- will be charged for each day and thereafter Rs.2 /- for each day of its overdue.

  11. The students must return all the books and settle any outstanding dues in prior to collect their No- Due Certificate or while applying for the Transfer Certificate

  12. Members utilising the On-line e-resources and Internet Browsing facilities, should enter the Membership Number/Register Number, Name, Login time and Logout time in the register kept for this purpose in the respective section.

  13. Users are requested not to leave any personal belongings like laptops etc.  The library will not be responsible for the loss of the same.

  14. For better use of the library, members can approach the library staff.

  15. Any infringement of the above will render the privilege of admission to and borrowing books from the library liable to penalty.

  16. The tampering of RFID tags will invite penalty up to Rs.500/-. However, a minimum penalty of Rs. 100 /- will be charged for loss of RFID tags. In case, if the book is partially damaged, a sum of Rs. 200 /- will be collected towards binding charges or alternatively the member can replace the book as per the library norms.
